St. Vincent & The Grenadines

This is a sample itinerary.  Weather or other outside factors may mean that your skipper sets an alternative course.

Arrival Day
Embarkation is possible from 5PM.  You can check in and drop off your luggage when you arrive though. Your catamaran will be moored at Bequia Marina, Port Elizabeth, in beautiful Admiralty Bay on the island of Bequia. This is one of the favorite yachting ports of the Caribbean. Upon arrival at our office in the Marina, you will be greeted by our operations manager who will go through the check-in procedure with you. Then you’ll be introduced to your crew, your fellow sailors and your TradeWinds yacht whilst you enjoy a refreshing Welcome cocktail. After being shown to your cabin and your new home for the week, take a little time to settle in. Enjoy a delicious dinner aboard, your yacht remains in the harbor for the evening to allow you to acclimatize. You can have either a relaxing time onboard or show yourself the charms of Port Elizabeth with its quaint restaurants and bars.

Cruising Day 1
Breakfast is served followed by a safety briefing and a first look at the proposed itinerary for the week. You will then set sail for the island of Mustique, a unique privately owned island developed for the rich and famous. If you want to participate in the handling of the yacht and sails, you can do so but, if you prefer, just lie back and relax.  It is all up to you.

When you arrive in Britannia Bay, jump in to the crystal clear waters for some reef exploration before lunch is served. After lunch, a trip around the island by rented golf cart or horseback riding (which must be pre-booked), is highly recommended. The windward beaches are stunning; make sure you do not miss Macaroni Beach! For SCUBA divers, there is a nice wreck dive just off Montezuma shoals where our dive master will take you for the first of your dives during the cruise. We often see turtles, rays and the harmless nurse sharks. Enjoy a cocktail at Basils Bar before heading back to your yacht for another wonderful Caribbean dinner.

Cruising Day 2

Following a scrumptious breakfast, we sail downwind past the beautiful windward side of Canouan to the Tobago Cays; arguably the most beautiful area of the Caribbean. The sheer beauty of this place will make you never want to leave. The whole Island group is a Marine National Park, and is completely protected by World's End reef and Horseshoe reef. Some of the most exciting diving and snorkeling ever can be experienced here. You will spend the whole day in the Cays with excursions to several different ones, ending with another wonderful sunset followed by a dinner onboard. In this location there is virtually no light pollution whatsoever and your captain may invite all guests up on deck for a night cap and an evening of the most amazing stargazing.

Cruising Day 3
Early in the morning, we set sail to Salt Whistle Bay on the neighboring island of Mayreau. This picture perfect beach & palm tree fringed bay is the favorite for many of our repeat guests. For the novice, SCUBA trial dives can be arranged here through the local dive operator. After lunch, we sail to Clifton Harbor on Union Island where we go stern-to on the docks of the Yacht Club. Sunset drinks are being prepared onboard while you get ready for an evening ashore at one of the nearby restaurants.

Cruising Day 4

After breakfast, we sail across to Palm Island, developed by John Caldwell in the sixties, now a luxurious small paradise resort. The snorkeling on the surrounding reefs is excellent; so is the relaxation on the white coral sand beaches. Lunch is served onboard, and followed by a sail to nearby island Petit St. Vincent. You will now have reached the very southern end of the Grenadines, and we anchor your yacht for the evening by the small luxurious resort of PSV. Only a few small cottages are scattered around the beachfront. The view from their bar is spectacular, where we team up for a sunset cocktail. Dinner is served onboard.

Cruising Day 5
Having finished your breakfast and a morning swim, we set sail for the beautiful Saline Bay on Mayreau. Here you will find underwater caves with myriads of reef fish and we often see electric rays in the deep on the sand bottom. The wreck of the 1st world war gun ship "Purina" lies upright in only 40 feet of water, so here you can enjoy further great diving. The late afternoon, will see us setting sail up to the island of Canouan, and we’ll anchor for the evening in one of the secluded bays. Dinner is served onboard, often fresh fish that we have caught earlier in the day.

Cruising Day 6
While you are still asleep in your cabin, we may move off to the very northern end of the island to a gorgeous small bay. Breakfast is served here, and we set out for some great snorkeling before we start our sail back to Bequia to arrive in Admiralty Bay around lunchtime. In the afternoon you can go ashore exploring Bequia, visit the turtle sanctuary or the fascinating architectural project "Moon hole" by West Cay, Alternatively, we will arrange for some more diving opportunities for the dedicated divers. As it is the last evening of the cruise, guests dine ashore at one of the many restaurants in Bequia.

Departure Day
After breakfast onboard, it is time to gather your belongings and memories. Your crew will arrange transport back to the airport before exchanging fond farewells. You will already be planning your next cruise...
