Nidri is on the East coast of the stunning Island of Lefkas, 70 miles south of Corfu. TradeWinds Crusie Club is at the very charming, family-run Armonia Hotel in Nidri.
Lefkas, meaning 'white' in Greek, is named for the Island's white rock which makes the cliffs dramatically beautiful. Lefkas is so close to the mainland that it only just qualifies to be an island.
The Corinthians cut a canal through sandbanks in 600 BC to separate Lefkas from the Greek mainland. Unlike busier Greek Islands, Lefkas retains its old charm with quiet country villages and wild, empty beaches along the West coast.
